Nina Necak

This site was created by artist Nina Necak. Nina divides her time between tiles and her own artwork.

Over the years Nina has been involved in many tile projects, winning the Tile Associations best tile launched onto the UK market in 2005 for her Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs. She has also been influenced by the knowledge of curators at the William Morris Gallery.

Nina is also indebted to Richard and Hilary Myers, the authors of the book 'William Morris Tiles' in which they share their research. She has discovered so much from this publication: information on how William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones, D.G. Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown and Kate Faulkner all worked on tile designs for the firm Morris & Co. and their connections with Dutch tileries and William De Morgan. The book also includes the picture tiles Four Seasons, the Labours of the Months, Chaucer's Good Women and the wonderful illustrated fairy tales, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty.

Nina continues to be influenced and inspired by artists of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
